
THE PROJECT WAS DULY COMPLETED ON 15.12.2023. You can read the evaluation of the project in the article “Care for the area managed by the Veľká Fatra National Park“.
The Administration of the Veľká Fatra National Park based in Martin has been implementing the project since 1.1.2023 Care for the area managed by the Veľká Fatra National Park.
- The submitted project directly reflects the needs and obligations arising from the laws and regulations of the Slovak Republic and from the approved Other Documentation.
- The main goal of the project is to improve the condition of selected species and their habitats in the selected project area in the Administration of the Veľká Fatra National Park based in Martin.
- This is a non-investment project that began to be implemented on 1.1.2023 with an expected completion date of 30.11.2023. 26 professionals will be directly involved in the project. The expert project coordinator supervises the time and material fulfilment of the project requirements and ensures the compliance of the activities carried out with the project budget. Four Experts/Specialists will report directly to the Project Coordinator.
The project focuses on:
– mapping the occurrence of invasive plants, selected species of protected animals and plants,
– afforestation, protection of tree species,
– mapping of trees for life and “dead wood”
– Mapping and increasing the number of nesting and hatcheries of selected animal species
– Tourism management, control and elimination of negative phenomena in the area
– protection of the area from fires and others.
- The result of the project will be an improvement in the condition of selected habitats and species, data in WebLES, in KIMS, working GIS layers will be created, small wetlands will be created. Workers will prepare forecasts to address the issue of nature and landscape protection in protected areas and assess the impacts of plans and projects on environmental components, and boxes for 3 species of birds will be installed. The resulting outputs and presentations will be presented to the professional and general public (web, FB, public events).
