On the occasion of the International Day of Tourist Guides, we went on a joint winter ascent to Lysec (1,381 m above sea level). ❄️🥾
Our route led through the winter landscape of the Veľká Fatra. During the ascent, we talked about the history and formation of the Veľká Fatra Mountains, its geological composition, typical fauna and flora, but also about rare and protected species that are typical for this locality. Although we were greeted by fog at the top instead of panoramic views, it did not spoil our good mood.
👉 We also addressed the topic of the work of the nature guard, its powers and obligations, and explained why respecting the rules in protected areas is key to preserving the value of this area.
We are pleased that we could spend this day actively, in nature and together with you. We thank all participants for their energy, questions and interest – and we look forward to further meetings in the mountains. 🌲
i️The event was organized thanks to the implementation of the project within the support measure “Support of sustainable tourism and strengthening biodiversity in protected areas” co-financed by the second Swiss-Slovak Cooperation Program.
