Experience the Veľká Fatra through the eyes of those who protect it.
On the occasion of the International Day of Tourist Guides , we cordially invite you to a unique joint hike accompanied by nature rangers of the Veľká Fatra National Park Administration. 🏔️❄️
📅 February 21, 2026, 9:00 a.m
📍. Finish: Lysec Hill (1,381 m n. m.)
🧭 Meeting: parking lot at Chata Lysec in Jasenská dolina
🗺️ Route: moderately difficult, elevation 798 m, winter conditions
🥾 Mandatory equipment: sturdy hiking boots, chains or crampons, sticks, gaiters and warm clothes.
An all-day hike through the forests of the Veľká Fatra with beautiful views from Lysec awaits us, during which you will learn more about nature conservation, animal life and the work of rangers in the national park. We will learn to recognize animal tracks and, with a bit of luck, we will also be able to observe local birds. The route is one of the moderately demanding – it has a smooth, but sometimes longer climb, it is suitable for ordinary tourists with basic equipment. The reward is a panoramic view of Turiec and the ridge of the Veľká Fatra.
