HERBALISM, NATURE AND IZABELA TEXTORISOVÁ
Discover the magic of plants, medicinal herbs, and nature in the story of the first Slovak female botanist, Izabela Textorisová.
Izabela Textorisová is one of the significant figures in Slovak natural science. Although she did not have a university botanical education, she dedicated her life to observing nature, collecting, and identifying plants. She particularly focused on the flora of Turiec and Veľká Fatra, and her knowledge contributed to the development of Slovak botany.
The event will introduce the world of plants, their importance for humans and nature, and the traditions of folk herbalism. Through Izabela Textorisová’s story, we will explore how nature can be discovered with attention, respect, and curiosity – just as this exceptional woman did more than a hundred years ago.
