Sidorovo

Sidorovo is a massive peak located above Vlkolínec in the northern part of Veľká Fatra. The Sidorovo massif is unmistakable even from far away. The climb up will definitely give you a workout. You can head here directly from Vlkolínec; first, you’ll walk through gentle meadows, but later a real steep stretch begins. The second option is the route from Ružomberok starting at Kalvária. This one is longer and you have to cross several hills. Along this route, you’ll pass spots with beautiful views (e.g., Veľká skala). After the steep hike, you’ll be rewarded with a semi-circular view from the summit. In good weather, you can see as far as the High Tatras (especially Kriváň) and the Low Tatras, and the Liptov Basin opens up beautifully before you. The summit of Sidorovo is equipped with a railing and an information panel. Interestingly, a fortification was located here in the past.
