ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Ploská is certainly one of the most uniquely shaped peaks in Slovakia. Thanks to its rounded forms, you can easily recognize it from afar. The expansive grassy summit seems to characterize all of Veľká Fatra—especially its beautiful mountain meadows. Ploská is accessible from Vyšná Revúca via gently ascending terrain. You can also reach the summit of Ploská when traversing the Veľká Fatra ridge, for example from Chata pod Borišov, from where you have it right in front of you. The views from Ploská are among the most beautiful that all of Veľká Fatra has to offer. They are panoramic to the distant horizon and you feel as if you are in the middle of all the hills. You will see Malá Fatra, the Low and High Tatras, and the Western Tatras. Ploská is also a popular ski mountaineering destination. Just be careful in winter, as the area is bordered by large slope failures and avalanche gullies.
