ROUTE DESCRIPTION
Ostredok is the highest peak of Veľká Fatra. It offers beautiful 360-degree views of the main ridge, especially of Suchý vrch, Ploská, Čierny kameň and Rakytov. You can also see the High, Low and Western Tatras, the Kremnica Mountains and Malá Fatra. Despite being the highest in this mountain range, it is not a steep hill. It is a sprawling grassy peak covered with grass. It is very easily accessible from Krížna. The section of the ridge between these peaks is particularly beautiful. It represents an interesting, relaxing part of the ridge trail that can also be enjoyed as a family trip. Several hiking trails lead to Ostredok, starting points can be Liptovské Revúce or the village of Blatnica via Gaderská Valley. The hike from Blatnica is quite long and challenging with a high elevation gain.
