ROUTE DESCRIPTION
Beautiful views, no one around, just you and nature. That’s what Nolčovská Magura—or Mogura, as the locals call it—is all about. The access route starts past the village of Nolčovo at the beginning of the Veľká dolina valley. From here, it’s a shorter but steep trail. You can also extend your hike by going through the Veľká dolina valley to the Príslop Saddle and then to the summit. On the shorter, steeper route, you’ll climb steeply through a small forest until you reach a meadow; from there, it’s not much further. Even though Nolčovská Magura isn’t among the highest peaks, the grassy summit offers panoramic views, especially of the Kriváň part of the Malá Fatra mountains. You definitely won’t run into crowds on this hike, so you can enjoy nature at its most authentic.
