ROUTE DESCRIPTION
Lysec is a peak that is recognizable from a great distance. It is easily identified by its “bald spot.” While its northern side is forested, the southern side consists of grassy slopes that offer breathtaking views of the Veľká Fatra ridge and the peaks of Malá Fatra, including Veľký Rozsutec and Kľak. In good weather, you can even see the Low, High, and Western Tatras. You can start your route in Jasenská dolina (following the blue trail behind the Lysec mountain hut). For a change, you can descend along the yellow trail. You can also continue to Malý Lysec and further to the popular Chata pod Borišovom (on the Veľká Fatra ridge), though this is a more time-consuming trek.
