ROUTE DESCRIPTION
Kľak is the highest peak of the Turiec branch of the main Veľká Fatra ridge. From a distance it may look unremarkable, but once you’re up there, it’s a whole different story. They say the view from Kľak is among the most beautiful in Veľká Fatra. From the summit you can see many peaks of Veľká Fatra, Malá Fatra, the Choč Mountains, the Western Tatras, and in good conditions also part of the Low Tatras and the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. The Veľká Fatra Trail runs across the summit, and you can reach Kľak on it from Jarabiná. There are several routes up to Kľak. Shorter ones start in Podhradie and Sklabinský Podzámok; another route goes from Krpeľany to Príslop Pass, and there’s also one from the Ľubochňa Valley.
