The administration of the Veľká Fatra National Park together with the company PROFI-NET s.r.o. offers you another live stream. This time, the camera captures the nesting of humpback swans in the old riverbed of the Váh River. The fluctuating water level of the Váh River and frequent changes in water flow do not allow swans in this part of the river to successfully nest every year. However, we believe that this season will be good for them and at the beginning of June we will see the hatching of small swans. Currently, the female swan warms 4 eggs and the male swan carefully guards the surroundings of the nest. With powerful flaps of his wings, he can drive away even a disproportionately larger intruder of territory than himself. The humpback swan is our heaviest flying water bird and belongs to the toothed swans. The chicks are non-feedable and leave the nesting island very quickly after hatching.
