The Administration of the Veľká Fatra National Park announces a two-stage project competition for the Eco-Education Center of the Veľká Fatra National Park, which will be built in the building of the former Forest Plant in Turčianske Teplice. The centre will provide premises for the environmental education public and administrative premises for environmental education workers and the Veľká Fatra National Park.
The spa town of Turčianske Teplice is located near the Veľká Fatra National Park and forms an important entrance to this protected area. However, the region lacks an eco-center and a visitor center. The building of the former Forest Plant is directly adjacent to the Secondary School of Pedagogy and the Primary School with a Kindergarten, which represents an important potential for the use of this former administrative building also at the local level for local residents and pupils of primary and secondary schools and local residents.
The Eco-Education Centre has:
- to provide visitors with information about the protection of precious areas through a modern exhibition of the Veľká Fatra National Park
- enable multifunctional use of the premises for various types of environmental education activities or conferences
- to offer visitors to the national park and the general public an information point with the possibility of selling souvenirs, promotional products and refreshments
- create functional facilities for national park workers and guests by building offices and accommodation facilities
- to create accommodation capacities within the framework of environmental education, primarily for school groups
- provide services and service to disadvantaged visitors through inclusive design
- To offer space and facilities for the Brown Bear Intervention Team (West Workplace)
- to provide premises for the treatment and temporary accommodation of injured animals
- be an example of a site designed in accordance with the latest ecological and environmental design aspects
In the first stage, participants will submit the composition of the research team and a portfolio of 3 reference projects (implementations, projects or studies) with at least 1 project focused on the reconstruction of the building. The announcer will invite participants who placed 1st to 3rd in the first stage in the order compiled by the jury to participate in the second stage. The competition was verified by the Slovak Chamber of Architects.

Circle of participants:
A participant may only be a natural or legal person who is authorised to perform a regulated profession constituting an activity referred to in Section 4 or Section 5 (1) (a) of Act No. 138/1992 Coll. on Authorised Architects and Authorised Civil Engineers in Case No. n. p. It is recommended that the participants have a civil engineer in the research team, for the possibility of a comprehensive design solution.

The announcer allows participants to inspect the place of implementation of the subject of the contract, the exterior part of which is freely accessible.
