A day with an expert – this time on the topic of Forestry of the Veľká Fatra
Last Saturday (31.5.), with the support of the Swiss-Slovak Cooperation Program, registered participants went to another Day with an Expert – this time on the topic of Forestry of the Veľká Fatra.
The goal of our trip was a beautiful and at the same time the longest, and therefore not very accessible, valley in Slovakia – the Ľubochnianska Valley, through which we were accompanied by Ing. Martina Kútniková, one of the foresters of the NPVF Administration.
A rich program awaited the participants, during which they learned important information about what the work of a forester consists of and tried to educate, restore and protect forest stands right in the heart of the Veľká Fatra.
At the same time, various games with elements of forest pedagogy were prepared for the children, thanks to which they learned about the forest in a non-violent – fun way.
Positive feedback has confirmed that we are doing these activities correctly. We received a beautiful reaction from the Basic Organization of the Slovak Association of the Disabled in Sučany: “The event, starting with transport, organization, expertise, entertainment for all ages and the excellent friendly approach of the organizers, was perfectly prepared. We were amazed by the activities at the individual stations such as information about wood, its pests, practical planting of forest trees, demonstrations of attracting animals and information about the protection of our forests, as well as practical skills such as archery and various fun games from the smallest children’s participants to us seniors.”
We will be happy to meet soon on another occasion – the next one on Saturday, June 7, 2025 in the Amphitheater near Blatnica.
