🟤 Brown bear as part of the ecosystem of the Veľká Fatra
🌲🐾 How does the king of our forests influence the entire natural world around him?
Come and find out with us – we will go to the beautiful corners of the Veľká Fatra.
📅 On Saturday, 13.9.2025 , we cordially invite you to another Day with an expert. This time, together with Ing. Juraj Žiak, the head of the Fatra Brown Bear Intervention Team, we will go to the Ľubochnianska Valley – one of the longest valleys in Slovakia.
🚌 Transport by bus from Martin will be provided for registered participants, while it will also be possible to board in Sučany, Turany, or Ľubochňa. The bus departure is at 8:30 in front of the Martin railway station, then about 8:45 from Sučany (bus stop at Tesco), about 8:50 from Turany (bus stop in the center near the Municipal Office) and about 9:10 from Ľubochňa (parking lot at the Institute of Endocrinology). The return to the railway station in Martin will be approximately around 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon.
🌲 The route will be easy and suitable for everyone, including seniors and families with children. We will move by bus to several locations within the valley, while at each stop we will go to some side valleys. Unique natural scenery and a really interesting interpretation await us.
🔎 During the day, you will learn:
- what place does the bear have in the ecosystem of the Veľká Fatra
- What affects its presence in the country
- what its footprints, droppings, dens or “scratches” on the trunks look like
- How we can live with large carnivores in a common space
- How to behave when meeting a bear
🎒 We recommend:
- appropriate hiking shoes and appropriate clothing
- enough water and a snack
- the desire to explore, listen and perceive nature in its most authentic form
📩 Registration:
Book your seat on the bus by e-mail at: rezervacie@npvf.sk until 11.9.2025. When booking, please indicate the names of registered participants, your mobile number and boarding station.
🫶 The number of places is limited!
