Rakytov is undoubtedly one of the greatest gems of Veľká Fatra. It is the highest peak of the Liptov branch of the main ridge of Veľká Fatra. You can take a hike to enjoy the beautiful views from Rakytov along the yellow trail from Liptovské Revúce from the Teplô area through Teplá dolina valley. You can make the route more pleasant with a rest and a visit to Útulňa Limba. Another ascent route leads from Smrekovica through Rakytovské sedlo, and you can also get here from Chata pod Borišovom through Ploská. The summit of Rakytov offers a panoramic view of Malá Fatra, the Low Tatras, Veľká Fatra, and in good weather you can even see Choč or the High Tatras. At the summit you will find a viewpoint compass rose and a wooden cross, and at the southern foot there is an interesting Rock Gate.
