Tlstá, much like Ostrá, is one of the peaks of Veľká Fatra located in its northwestern part, near Martin. Tlstá will captivate you with its unique nature, featuring unusual rock formations and caves like Mažarná, as well as breathtaking views. The best way to start the ascent to Tlstá is from Gaderská Valley. The entire hike takes place in a unique natural environment. The views from the expansive summit of Tlstá are truly worth it. You’ll especially enjoy the vistas over the Turiec Basin towards Lúčanská Malá Fatra. It’s worth combining this hike with a circular route to the Ostrá peak. This hike is a small ridge walk and is among the most beautiful trails in all of Veľká Fatra.
