The Administration of the Veľká Fatra National Park together with the company PROFI-NET s.r.o. bring you new interesting projects of live broadcasts, which you can watch on our websites npvelkafatra.sk and kukaj.sk.
In the past, we have already offered visitors to the kukaj.sk website to watch a live broadcast from the nesting site of kingfishers. This year, we have prepared for you a look into the nest of our most beautiful slumbering owl. Slumbering clematis is a so-called synanthropic species, the occurrence of which is tied to the proximity of human settlements. It uses human buildings for nesting, especially farm buildings such as stables, barns, attics, haylofts and also church towers. The pair, whose nesting you have the opportunity to watch, nests in a nesting box installed under the gable of an old threshing floor. Currently, the female sits on 4 eggs, from which the young are to hatch at the end of May. In the past, dormant clematis almost disappeared from the Turiec Basin and currently survive only thanks to the support of reintroduction programs. We would like to thank GAYA s.r.o. and TURVOD a.s. for their cooperation and helpfulness. The transmission was professionally prepared and coordinated by Ing. Juraj Žiak (NPVF Administration), technical logistics and coordination are provided by Ivan Daráni.
