On 8.6.2019, we participated in an event called “Nationwide Round of Medicinal Plants”. It was already the 24th year. The event was organized by: Environmental Advisory Center Studnička, Slovak Botanical Society and Natural History Museum Bratislava. Administration of the Veľká Fatra National Park made the children’s stay at the Junior Hotel in Vrútky more pleasant with a practical demonstration of the production of birdhouses for songbirds. Pupils of different ages showed their skills and dexterity. They made several beautiful “titmouses”. In the theoretical part, the children could learn more about ornithology, bird ringing and bird singing, which was told to them by Ing. Juraj Žiak. We ended a successful Saturday day with a small competition. At the end, the director of the Administration of the Veľká Fatra National Park evaluated and handed over the prize for the most beautiful birdhouse. The event was held in a friendly and cheerful spirit 😀 We are glad that we could diversify the “National Competition of Medicinal Plants” with such an activity.
