As every year, the employees of the Veľká Fatra National Park Administration are engaged in practical management of wetland sites. Excess biomass created by gradual succession is removed from the areas in order to maintain some rare plant species on the site, which do not tolerate shading and overgrowth with shrubs. In the past, these areas were kept in a favourable condition mainly by grazing livestock. Today, grazing has receded in many areas and it is therefore necessary to maintain a favourable condition of wetland habitats against successive growth, especially by mowing, trimming and in some cases by special mulching.
