Invitation to the Day with an Expert – Birds of the Krpelany Dam
We invite you to a spring field meeting dedicated to the birds of the Krpelany Dam.
Date: Saturday, 14.3.2026 Meeting place: 9:00 at Jednota COOP in Krpeľany
Duration of the event: approximate 3 hours
Transport: individual
Together, we will learn what species we can observe at the dam and how to recognize them correctly. We will learn why aquatic habitats are important for the preservation of biodiversity and there will be interesting facts about the life of wintering but also year-round waterfowl, which are tied to this site. Expert commentary will take place directly in the field, with space for questions and discussion.
You can look forward to a pleasant walk around the dam, bird watching in their natural habitat and a lot of new knowledge. The excursion will continue in the area of Lake Kraľovany, where, with a bit of luck, we may be surprised by other interesting bird species. We recommend that you bring binoculars and appropriate clothing for the field.
